Today is Mother's Day - the day on which motherhood is commercially exploited to the bone. Everywhere chocolates, flowers, clothes and cheesy pictures of happy mothers and pretty children. At least with the latter I join in. 😁🌸
Nevertheless, I want neither a congratulation, nor a gift for Mother's Day. It's enough for me if my daughter likes me every day of the year and we experience as many beautiful moments together as possible. For the fact that I once sewed it as an evening dress, it is quite suitable for everyday use. Even without a petticoat and high heels, the taffeta dress that I sewed last year looks amazingly good.

By the way, I can not only sew dresses. During the past year, I have also found the joy of making headpieces. Since then I make a lot of great Fascinators, hairbands and bows.

And again a new sewn outfit to start the weekend! For today I have dug out my "Christmas dress" from 2021 again. Thanks to the short sleeves and the light jaquard fabric it is also perfect as a spring dress for the first warm days.
The dress is sewn after a pattern from "Gerties ultimate Dressbook" by @gertie18 . Since it is sewn from a scrap of fabric of unknown origin (I found it in my closet one day...), I didn't have enough fabric for the originally planned knee-length version. Actually, I wanted to sew me this year a denim jacket. But then I discovered this one at @lovesavesthedayberlin and the sewing project became obsolete. :-) And here is my outfit for Thursday, the 11th day of #memademay2023
Today I wear an absolute favorite outfit of mine. The plaid skirt has been a real classic in my closet for many years. Since it has gotten a little too big, it sits more on the hip than at the waist, but thats okay for me. To go with the skirt, I wear my purple T-shirt, which I have already shown here in the #memademay challenge. At first, I wanted so sew a denim jacket, but then I found this one in a shop in Berlin and it fits so perfectly 😍

For the tenth day of #Memademay2023, I'm wearing my yellow polka dot dress that I sewed two years ago. Man that was an awful sewing project ☺️ The dress' pattern was so hard to fit on my body and although it was the second dress I sewed after it, it just didn't want to fit right. But in the end, after nearly losing my mind over that pattern, I mastered it and finished the dress. It's perfect for the first warm spring days and goes perfectly with my shoes from @joebrowns . From the scraps of the fabric I made some cute little bows for the hair to go with the dress.

Black is the best color in the world, but rarely does it work to combine black with black. 🖤🏴 I do it every now and then anyway, for example today. In my self-sewn outfit for the Ninth #Memademay2023 day.
I'm wearing my good old basic black tshirt and a pencil skirt. The tshirt is made from cotton jersey and so comfortable and versatile, that I wear it at least once a week in summer. Thats why the color is already a little faded. The skirt is made from punto, which makes it stretchy and comfortable as well. Unfortunately, I was a little late with the sewing and the Tshirt got finished in the fall, when it was already too cold for wearing it. Thats why it's awesome to be able to wear it right now at the beginning of summer. I found these dungarees from @collectifclothing last year at a flea market. Even though they are a bit too big for me, I still find them super comfortable.
