Even in sewing, there is always something new to l Even in sewing, there is always something new to learn! When I made this blouse, I learned how to crochet a little loop for a button with yarn! It's a technique that I saw often on the garmens my mother and grandmother made. I never tried this before and was surprised, how easy this is to make. It's a perfect technique when you decide to add a button on a piece that has already finished edges 😃 Read the full post on the blog of @berninanaehmaschinen #lasercat #sewingblog #sewingblogger #diy #nähen #selbernähen #sewing #sew #creative #memade #sewingproject #dressmaking #schneidern #bernina

Yes, it's that easy. It's just an rectangle with a Yes, it's that easy. It's just an rectangle with a hole and some ties. And it's also my new favourite blouse for all kinds of summer adventures.
When I discovered the instructional pictures from an 1940's lifestyle magazine on pinterest, I decided instantly that I had to try this. After my first muslin, that was made from some old crepe-fabric, I chose this beautiful dotted chiffon for this variation of the wrap blouse. Sometimes the most simple things are the most beau Sometimes the most simple things are the most beautiful. That also counts when it comes to sewing. 🧵🪡 My newest blouse for my newest blogpost on the @berninanaehmaschinen blog is made after an original 1940's instruction, but it has NO PATTERN😃
The wrapped style with the cut-on sleeves looks so fancy, but it's so easy to sew! Basically, it's just an rectangle with some ties. Swipe to see the instruction I used as a base to sew this or visit the bernina blog to read the full instrucitons (only German, sorry, but with a lot of pictures ). #lasercat #sewingblog #sewingblogger #diy #nähen #selbernähen #sewing #sew #creative #memade #sewingproject #dressmaking #schneidern #vintagesewing #vintagesewingpatterns #vintagestyle
What does it take so an authentic fifties blouse?! What does it take so an authentic fifties blouse?! Well, just that: Some fabric, scissors, needles, yarn and... Not even a pattern? Nope, for my upcoming blogpost on the bernina blog tomorrow I'm sewing a vintage blouse without a pattern! 🤯 #lasercat #sewingblog #sewingblogger #diy #nähen #selbernähen #sewing #sew #creative #memade #sewingproject #dressmaking #schneidern

I made a very special vintage top for summer. I'm curious if you will like it. 😃 For me, I'm very excited and happy that I finally managed to finish and photograph a new sewing project. Do you have a favourite dress for summer? I can't Do you have a favourite dress for summer? I can't decide, which of my selfmade dresses I love the most. Yesterday I've been wearing my black fifties inspried dress with the belt, today it's the supercomfortable "popover dress" from "Gertie sews jiffy dresses". I just love summer, when I get up and I put my dress on without needing an cardigan or tights to go with it. And I love all my summer dresses. I just can't sew enough of them 💜🖤

How do you feel about wearable muslins? I make a How do you feel about wearable muslins?
I make a lot of muslins to get my perfect fitting. Small pieces for Sleeves or Bodices I make from old fabrics, that I throw away after trying them on. But when it comes to pieces where I need a lot of fabric, I tend to sew wearable muslins. So at least I can sell it on the flea market if it doesn't fit myself. Then my wearable muslin makes some other person very happy 😁
My black wrap top here is one of these wearable muslins. I still can't decide if I want to keep it. To me, it's a little too big and too opaque. I don't really know where to wear it. Maybe on the beach? Or over a dress? We will see... Pattern: NO pattern, old 1950's tutorial for sewing a top without a pattern

The result is a wearable muslin I made from a piece of old crepe fabric. It's not perfect, but it makes a nice "beach kimono" for the summer.
